INLAND ICE water is said to be the purest unprocessed drinking water on earth. Permanent ice that covers more than 19,000 square miles is known as an ice sheet and only exists in two places: the Antarctic and Greenland. When the ice sheet ‘calves’ icebergs they melt and are absorbed into the sea, but before they melt, INLAND ICE bottles these icebergs before they melt, the result is uniquely pristine water that hasn’t touched soil or any pollutants. With a starting point that dates back to the late 17th century, the establishment was originally a coffee house owned by the founder’s father, George Lock. Lock became the apprentice to the hatter Charles Davis and eventually moved the shop to his father’s original dwelling. John Bell & Croyden | Pharmacists to the Queen
Holding the Royal Warrant as pharmacists to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth ll, John Bell & Croyden, can trace their history back to 1798 when John Bell opened the original pharmacy on Oxford Street. John Bell and his son Jacob both played an important part in the founding of pharmacy as a profession in the UK with Jacob founding the Pharmaceutical Society in 1841 and The Pharmaceutical Journal. In 1909 they were granted their Royal Warrant on behalf of King George V and held The Royal Warrant to Her Majesty The Queen Mother until her passing in 2002. The pharmacy has maintained its royal connection, not only being the pharmacists to the Queen but also holding the secret recipe to, and a sample of, the famous anointing oil used when a new sovereign is crowned. Johnny Van Haeften | Art Dealer
Johnny Van Haeften is a veteran figure in the art world. He started his career in the PR and Stamp Departments at Christie’s, where he felt a strong affinity with works by the Dutch Masters. This affinity is perhaps a nod to his Dutch ancestry. In 1977 he and his wife opened their first gallery just off Bond Street, which at the time the only one in London operating exclusively in this niche.
