You might have spent more time than unusual in your pyjamas this year with lockdown meaning that we didn’t have to get out of our pyjamas for days on end if we so wanted, even for those Zoom meetings. Yet with the seasons changing and autumn on its way we’re starting to think about pyjamas again, this time though we’re going to be choosing timeless classics, which we could just as easily wear out or to entertain in as we would in bed. So for upcoming duvet days and cold evenings check out these luxury pyjama brands.
Described at the ‘World’s First Walking Sleepwear’ Kiev-based Sleeper, is a brand with a big A-lister following, that answers all our wishes of wanting to be able to wear our pyjamas outside without people knowing (that said with them looking this good we’d be telling everyone!) As they say they want ‘to make every environment feel like home’ and their collection of elegant silk pyjamas and floaty linen dresses would look just as chic worn in the office or to a wedding (in fact one bride even wore a set on her big day) and their linen robes could definitely double up as a light summer jacket.
Desmond & Dempsey
Born out of their love for long, lazy Sundays where you have nothing to do and the fact that Molly (The Dempsey side) had a penchant for wearing Joel’s (The Desmond side) shirts, Desmond & Dempsey is an effortlessly cool brand that makes top-quality cotton pyjamas, robes and accessories. From bold jaguar and snake prints to pineapples and striking stripes, all of Desmond & Dempsey’s pyjamas are hand-painted in London. And in a nod to their beginnings you’ll find The Boyfriend Collection inspired by stealing your boyfriend’s shirt.

Classic style pyjamas come in both block colours with contrasting piping and bold patterns, including panthers, eyes and flowers.Or for when you want to wear your loungewear outside (not that you couldn’t wear the pyjamas out, you definitely could) you’ll find their cashmere tracksuits.
Inspired by their love of travel, Hesper Fox is a London-based lounge and resort wear brand that’s big on prints and colour. Whisking you away to breezy summer days and balmy evenings with their bright designs and nostalgic stripes, you’ll find silk pyjama sets, separates, chic night dresses, camisoles and shorts which would be just as apt beside the pool as they are in bed.
Derek Rose makes the most of down time, it’s the brand for people who choose a night in with a good book or cosying up with loved ones. It’s celebrating that feeling of getting home, taking off your clothes and make up and changing into something much more comfy. Made from the finest silks, wools, cottons and cashmeres, their collections for men, women and children include sheepskin slippers, snuggly robes, jersey pyjamas and silk dressing gown and even a wool smoking for when you’re feeling particularly suave.
When it comes to a classic, sophisticated women’s pyjama it has to be Gingerlily.
