Based in St James’s, London, this family business has been built from the history of craftsmanship, and still works with the traditional, passionate approach that they always have since the early 20th century. They have previously fitted frames for the National Gallery, the National Portrait Gallery, the Royal Household and multitudes of private collectors around the world. The business was taken over by Michael Gregory in 1980, who worked alongside Jim Wiggins during his time training as a gilder and carver. Gregory maintains the traditional values that have run through this family business since its inception, overlooking the work on the frames to make sure it is carved, gilded, stained and polished to perfection. The Wiggins Frame Archive remains a valued resource for framing suggestions.

Success was born from tragedy when a woman known as The ‘Widow Bourne’ first started Berry Bros. & Rudd in 1698. The company continued to flourish after being taken over by The Berry family in the 19th Century and The Rudd family in the early 20th Century. Now three centuries since their establishment, with generations of expert wine and spirit expertise behind them, Berry Bros. & Rudd are one of the most highly respected Wine and Spirit Merchants in the business. The company’s original home at 3 St. James Street opposite St. James’s Palace where they still reside, is steeped in fascinating history. The wooden floor is made from the remains of an abandoned, unknown ship, while further investigation reveals a room with dust-covered wines from the 19th century and a truncheon belonging to Napolean III. Some even believe that the twisted passage found with even more exploration supposedly leads to an underground passage to the palace.

Rountree Tryon Galleries was created after a merger between Tryon Gallery and Rountree Fine Art in 2013. The merger brought together two well established galleries with common interests and a shared vision. Tryon Gallery was founded in 1959 and over the years established itself as one of the world’s leading dealers in sporting and wildlife art. In 2009 it received a tribute from HRH the Duke of Edinburgh to mark its 50th anniversary. Rountree Fine Art is significantly younger, but had no less made its mark before the merger. After ten years working at Christie’s and Bonhams, James Rountree started the gallery in 2009. The gallery focused primarily on sporting and maritime paintings dating from the 18th century through to the Second World War. In April 2018, Rountree Tryon Galleries were granted a Royal Warrant of Appointment to The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh as a Specialist Art Dealer. This celebrated gallery is located in St. James’s, Central London, with a sister establishment in Petworth, West Sussex.
