After the birth of her second child, Munchkin & Bear founder, Alana, noticed that her house was becoming less of a nurturing space and more of a crèche slowly filling up with garish primary colours. So she set about to design a practical, safe play mat that was durable enough for all ages to play on but still looked stylish - the sort of play mat that you would happily display in your sitting room. Following rigorous testing, research and a few changes along the way (their first mats were made with a different material) they settled on making mats from TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane). Which means their mats are: made from safe, non-toxic material, waterproof and easy to clean, durable and they’re shock absorbent and with a protective memory foam core. Plus the stylish designs are in soft, muted tones and are reversible - once your baby or child has finished playing, they make great yoga mats!

Whether it be advice on interior vs exterior paint, wax or varnish, Mylands covers it. Taking pride in perfecting paint formulas at no expense to our planet is at the forefront of Mylands ethos. As one of the last remaining manufacturers to use natural earth pigments, the depth and richness of the colours makes them equally as eco-friendly as they are beautiful.
