Listique’s Recommendation

Renowned for entertaining politicians and members of royalty, this exclusive establishment owned by Robin Birley is famous for its privacy and strict guest policies. Many members are also part of 5 Hertford Street, creating a special connection between the two Birley-owned clubs. The club's focus on wine allows members to store bottles on-site, and their house wine is served from a magnum.

About Oswald's | Private Members' Club

Robin Birley opened Oswald's, a private dining club in London's Mayfair neighborhood in May 2017. It is named after Oswald Birley, a portrait painter who was the grandfather of owner Mark Birley. The interior, designed by Tom Bell and Bruce Cavell, features Murano chandeliers, country-style fireplaces, and a cupola that leads to a cigar terrace. The executive chef at Oswald's is Gianluca Cossu, who previously worked at 5 Hertford Street.

Senior government officials, wealthy donors, showbiz celebrities, and members of the royal family are regular patrons of the club, which has become one of the most exclusive hangouts in the capital. In early 2022, it was referred to as "the most elite of London's private members' clubs".
