We’re back inside the restaurants and bars, staycations are on and holidays are sort of back. Now we’re getting ready for the return of the summer social season. Glyndebourne Festival: 20th May -29th August

Tomorrow marks the start of the Glyndebourne Festival! From the 20th May until the 29th August opera fans can enjoy world class performances in the indoor auditorium. It’s a chance to not only dress up, because after all there’s only so long we can drag out lockdown looks but also to picnic in the idyllic gardens during the 90 minute interval. Performances this year include Verdi’s opera, Luisa Miller; Mozart’s Così fan tutte and Wagner’s Tristan and Isolde. All things going to plan with the lifting of restrictions, more tickets for July and August performances will be available on the 20th June - so set your reminders now!

RHS Chelsea Flower Show: 21st -26th September

Whether you became a fully fledged gardener during lockdown or you’re just proud that you managed to keep your house plant alive, making the most of our gardens and greenery became even more important to us last year, which is why we’re so excited that the RHS Chelsea Flower show is back this year. For the first time ever, the annual event will be taking place in autumn (late, late summer for the purpose of this article) which will alter the look and design of many of the show’s exhibits. It’s a chance for the gardeners to make the most of the autumnal palettes and flowering plants.
