The UK’s largest antiquarian bookseller, this shop buys and sells antique books across all genres. Notable works sourced include Shakespeare’s first folio from 1623, Virginia Woolf’s pocket engagement diaries for eight years, including that for the final year of her life, and the first copy ever bound of Mark Twain’s Huckleberry Finn. Situated inside a four-story double fronted shop on Fulham Road in Chelsea, the shop is worth a visit for the premises alone. Losing oneself among the seemingly endless rows of old books is incredibly enjoyable. There are over 20,000 volumes and 6,000 prints for sale here. Peter Harrington have also recently opened a second shop on Dover Street. This slightly smaller shop stocks over 7,000 books.
