Goodwood Revival 2026
Time to rewind the clock. This immersive vintage motorsport event has everyone dressing in 1940s, ‘50s, and ‘60s attire – it’s a living time capsule.
Overview: Historic race cars compete on track, and the surroundings are transformed into mid-20th-century England. There’s even a vintage high street and dancing at the Tire Fryers bar after dark.
Tickets: General admission (~£70) and grandstands (~£20 extra) are available. Hospitality like the Goodwood Mess or Salvadori Pavilion provides fine dining and trackside balconies – ideal if you want luxury and comfort between exploring the festivities.
Travel Tips: Many make a weekend of it – staying in nearby Chichester or even glamping at the Goodwood campsite (now with premium glamping options for a high-comfort “step back in time”). If you have a classic car, drive it – pre-1966 vehicles get special parking and become part of the scene.
Dress Code: Period dress is strongly encouraged (and frankly, part of the fun).
- Men: military uniforms, tweed suits, or Grease-era mechanic overalls – you’ll see it all.
- Ladies: tea dresses, victory rolls in the hair, red lipstick, maybe a fur stole (faux is fine) – channel post-war glamour.
Even the VIP areas will be filled with costume-clad guests; it’s one event where you don’t want to be the only one in modern clothes.
Insider Tip: Visit the Revival Style Shop on site if you need to augment your outfit – they have fantastic vintage accessories. Don’t miss the daily Best Dressed contest. And wander the paddocks early morning: with fewer crowds, you’ll catch the purr of classic Jag D-Types and Ferrari GTOs up close, mechanics in period boiler suits tinkering away. It’s pure theatre – truly “Glorious Goodwood” in a different, sepia-toned way.
