Founded by Nigel Hadden-Paton and Adrian Cole in Dorchester, Truffle UK Ltd cultivates and commercially grows both the summer truffle and the Périgord Black truffle - they are in fact the only company in Britain to do so. Trees ‘infected’ with truffle spores are sold at a year old to be planted out on chalk and limestones, so that clients can grow their own - they sold 500 trees to The Duke of Edinburgh to plant at Sandringham. As well as cultivating truffles, they import truffles from France, Italy and Croatia offering a fresh supply to customers when they are in season. Keen for interest and appetite for truffles to grow, Truffle UK LTD encourages people to get out truffle hunting and also offers help with training dogs to search them out.
