About Loake | Shoemaker

Established in 1880, Loake shoemakers have manufactured traditional and contemporary men’s footwear for over 130 years. Its Managing Director Andrew Loake is the great-grandson of founder John Loake who opened up the first factory with his brothers, where the premium quality shoes are still made today. Loake quickly became known throughout the country as one of the finest and most advanced shoe factories in the country. During World War I and II, Loake provided footwear to the British and Russian armies and Naval and RAF officers. Using only the highest quality goodyear welt and an intricate process that dates back to before the founder’s time, each pair takes up to 8 weeks to complete which is a short time to wait for a finished product that is the height of luxury. In 2007, Loake was granted the Royal Warrant and now exports to over 50 countries and has a continuous growing database of customers worldwide.
