Trained jeweller and silversmith Alexander O’Neill began producing his own knives for his kitchen, blending traditional skills and clean, modern aesthetics. After posting on social media, demand for commissions was so high that Alexander founded Gorse Knives. This was back in 2016 and since then the company has gone from strength to strength. Gorse Knives use Aogami Super Blue steel for their knives, considered the best high carbon steel for knife making because of its high levels of carbon, chromium and tungsten. This allows for extreme sharpness and a silky smooth cut. Handles are made from hard woods and a water buffalo horn bolster provides abrasion resistance and keeps the knife balanced.
