Massimo de Carlo | Contemporary Art Gallery

Founded in 1987, Massimo de Carlo has been instrumental in introducing Italian artists to European and American audiences and promoting relationships between galleries, critics, curators and collectors. The gallery has showcased the work of internationally recognized artists including Maurizio Cattelan, Rudolf Stingel, Piotr Uklański, Diego Perrone, Paola Pivi, Yan Pei-Ming, Kaari Upson, Andra Ursuta and Andrea Zittel, all of whom have gained an outstanding place in important public and private collections. The gallery's program focuses on artists who are both nationally and internationally successful and have a lot of different skills. The goal is to show a unique mix of painting, drawing, installation, sculpture, photography, performance, and video. Massimo de Carlo is known for its daring and counter-current choices, often exhibiting artists who were not well known in Italy at the time, such as John Armleder, Olivier Mosset, Steven Parrino and Carsten Höller.
